Manual work audit: what your manual tasks cost
List the recurring tasks your team does by hand. You'll see the hours and cost per year for each, the most costly first, with a starting label and a comparison from published case studies.
The manual work audit turns minutes per task and times per week into hours and dollars per year, ranks the tasks by cost, and gives each one a starting label from the Noesis method: eliminate, automate, delegate to AI or keep human. If you choose a workflow, it adds the median time saving that published case studies in that workflow reported, with the number of cases behind it.
How the numbers are worked out
Hours per week are the minutes each time multiplied by the times per week. A year counts 48 working weeks, and full-time equivalents assume 37.5 hours a week. Cost uses the hourly figure you enter, which should include wages plus overhead such as benefits and payroll taxes.
Where the starting labels come from
Each kind of work points to a typical first move. Re-typed data is usually a step to eliminate, because the data can be entered once. Chasing, status updates, recurring reports and routine checks are usually rules a system can automate. Reading documents and building schedules are often good work to delegate to AI, with a person checking the doubtful cases. Judgment calls such as pricing and exceptions stay human, and AI can prepare the context for them.
These are starting points. The right label for each step depends on how the workflow runs in your team, which is why every engagement starts by mapping it.
The comparison from published case studies
When you choose a workflow, the tool shows how many published case studies in that workflow state a percentage time saving, and the median of those figures. Vendors and service providers publish these results themselves, so treat the comparison as a reference point. Your own number comes from a measured baseline.
Your data stays with you
The calculator runs in your browser. Nothing you type is stored or sent anywhere, so you can use real task names and costs.
Bring us the workflow behind your results
On a free workflow call we look at the workflow you choose, where the time goes, and whether a Workflow Diagnostic is worth doing. You leave with a clear next step, even when that step is to leave the workflow alone.
